Casa Guatemala brought 25 middle school students from Waltham and Framingham to visit the campus of Boston College where they spent a day full of activities and discussions with the student group Sankofa. Sankofa is young men's organization that emphasizes service to the community.
While on campus, students were given the opportunity to learn about college from other minority students and shadow them during a typical weekend day on a college campus. The students played played basketball in the school's student gym and were given the experience of a lifetime when they were allowed to play soccer in Boston College's 40,000 seat Alumni Stadium, home of the Boston College Football team and frequent site of many ESPN and ABC national telecasts.
